Project Seirbhis (pronounced “SHAYR-vish”) takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic word for “service.” Our name honors the strength, partnership, and purpose behind every service dog team we support.
We believe service dogs aren’t just trained helpers — they’re trusted teammates. Whether someone needs a dog for mobility, medical alert, psychiatric support, or autism-related tasks, we’re here to guide the journey with compassion and skill.
At Project Seirbhis, we train dogs to perform meaningful service tasks, and we teach their humans how to work alongside them with confidence and care.
Our training covers:
Note: We do not train guide dogs for visual impairment, but we're happy to help connect you to organizations that do.
Our approach is simple, personal, and partnership-focused.
We begin by learning about the handler’s daily life, needs, and goals. Some teams come with a dog already, others are matched with one from our program.
Dogs are trained using positive methods to master obedience, public behavior, and focus. We believe training should be kind, clear, and built for the real world.
Each dog learns specific tasks to assist their handler’s needs — from retrieving dropped items to alerting for medical events.
We teach the human half of the team too! Our handlers learn how to work with their dog, build trust, and maintain success long-term.
Project Seirbhis is fully funded by donations, which means our program is 100% free to the people we serve.
We believe access to a service dog shouldn’t depend on income. Thanks to the kindness of our supporters, it doesn’t have to.
Whether you’re beginning your service dog journey or continuing one with a dog you already love, Project Seirbhis is here to walk beside you. With patience, respect, and community, we help turn potential into partnership — one paw at a time.
